Just a refresher on ceiling fan use for the summer. The direction of the fan should be blowing downward or a counter-clockwise direction. This gives a windchill affect that cools you off. The other reminder is that there is no benefit to running the fan when you’re not in the room. The ceiling fan doesn’t cool your room it cools you. If you run the fan while you’re not in the room you are wasting energy. So, use your ceiling fan wisely and it will keep you more comfortable during the summer and reduce you overall cooling costs by letting you set your A/C at a little higher temperature. Or even better it can help keep your A/C off altogether.
