Cloth vs. Disposable. It’s a big question that many new parents face. There are so many options out there, many more than even just a couple of years ago. If you go the cloth diaper route you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the options you now have. These are not your parents cloth diapers. This site has quite a variety of diapers http://shop.clothdiaper.com/shared/StoreFront/default.asp?CS=clothdiape&Store… The downside of cloth is the washing and drying. A front loader washer makes it a better choice and drying on a clothesline also helps. But I know new mommy time is at a premium and doing loads of diapers takes a lot of it.
Disposables have also come a long way. There are a number of non-toxic, flushable and biodegradable disposable diapers. Drugstore.com carries about five different brands as well as eco-friendly wipes. http://www.drugstore.com/templates/stdplist/default.asp?catid=47480&PLStart=1… One big difference in non-toxic diapers is they are made without chlorine bleaching. The process of chlorine bleaching is very toxic and not something you want next to your baby’s skin.
Neither of these options is 100% perfect, but they are both better than the old alternatives. In the end you have to find the right choice for you, your baby and your life.
