While you’re shopping for the Easter meal make sure to look for local and organic meats and produce. Most of us now have access to both, but it sometimes does take a little forethought. Many times you have to order your organic ham in advance. If you haven’t ordered your ham in advance for this year make a note to yourself for next year. In the meantime ask around for locally raised pork. Finding eggs and vegetables from local producers is easier than finding ham, although in this part of the country there is a limited amount of fresh local produce available right now. I love the Upper Midwest, but it does take a long time for spring and early veggies to arrive. Ah, patience is a good thing.
