Good for Australia. They keep coming up as a leader in the fight against global warming. First it was banning incandescent bulbs and now it’s seriously working to reduce methane emissions from livestock. Australia will be starting a project worth over 17 million U.S. dollars to look at diet changes and genetics and other components in stomach bacteria to reduce the huge amounts of methane that livestock animals produce. Methane is one of the most powerful green house gases, much more powerful than CO2. Hopefully America will take a cue from this study start making changes to our livestock here.
