Winterize for the cold. All those little things add up such as plastic on the windows (although I do wonder about off-gassing), caulk around doors and windows, close drapes and put down warm rugs. An interesting tip I read was hanging up quilts, light area rugs or fabric on the walls. They block cold air and help your house feel warmer. If you do all or some of these tips you’ll find it easier to turn down the heat. But, like I tell my kids, it’s long sleeve and sweater season, dress appropriately. Don’t run around the house in a t-shirt and keep the heat up to compensate for that.
