Rain barrels are a great way to conserve water. If you put rain barrels under a few of your downspouts you can use the water for your plants outside and inside. They’ve made some nice improvements on them. The barrels now have screens to keep debris and bugs (mosquitos) out, they have spigots near the bottoms so you can hook a hose to it or put multiple barrels together, and some are made out of recycled plastic. I’ve also found ones that are different colors and shapes to fit with your home better. I haven’t found any locally where I live but you might have better luck where you live. Online you can find a great variety. So, tap into the rain.
